FAQ
Wedding planning questions, answered
Is Local Vow free for couples?
Yes. Searching vendors, sending inquiries, messaging vendors and using the Our Vow planning workspace are free for couples.
Does Local Vow handle payments to vendors?
No. Couples pay vendors directly — by check, bank transfer or the vendor's own payment link. Local Vow helps you track quotes, invoices and payments, but never processes or takes a cut of them.
How do I find wedding vendors in Ohio?
Start at Ohio weddings or pick a category such as venues, photographers or caterers and filter by Ohio.
How far ahead should we book wedding vendors?
Book your venue first, then vendors who can only work one wedding per day, like photographers, caterers and DJs. Popular dates fill early, so start as soon as you've set a date and budget. See our Ohio planning guide.
Where do we get a marriage license in Ohio?
From the probate court in the county where one of you lives, or where the ceremony takes place if neither of you lives in Ohio. Requirements and fees vary by county, so check with that court first.
What should we ask a vendor before booking?
Ask about availability, what's included, deposits, cancellation policy, insurance and who will be there on the day. Read our full list of questions.
Can we plan together with family or a planner?
Yes. Our Vow lets you invite partners, family and planners to your wedding with permission controls, and share shortlists, tasks, budget, guest list and timeline.
How do vendors get listed?
Any wedding business can list for free or claim an existing listing. Featured and Premium plans add more visibility.
Can wedding businesses advertise on Local Vow?
Yes. Wedding-related businesses can run sponsored ads on directory pages. See advertising.
